Australia Day @ Ivy Pool
Australia Day @ Ivy Pool

Ivy Pool Party on Australia Day left comments on the organiser’s Facebook page such as “I thought that these kinds of parties only existed in movies”. With some reporting it was like being in a rap video clip, and others commenting it was like Miami and Cancun on Spring Break meets Girls Gone Wild, the post seems to adequately sum up the event.
Swimsuits were the clothing option of choice, clad tightly over bodies in all styles, shapes and colours. Other apparel options that caught my eye included crochet tops and dresses; daytime poolside genious. But it was really about the accessories, with almost every guest donning a lot of notable bling. Necklaces were drapped over every female décolletage, and mixed with diamond crusted sunnies and designer watches. Bangles stacked high up the arm were popular too.
The DJ, dressed appropriately in bandeau bikini and acid wash cut offs, cranked out the tunes to a crowd inspired to DANCE…on everything; in the pool, around the pool, on tables, chairs, in the changerooms, where ever there was room to move a pair of manicured feet. Even the afternoon rain stopped no one.
Celebs spotted cavorting in and around the pool included Nacho Pop, Sam Brett, Wayne Cooper, Nick Giannopoulos and Jaime Wright (sitting with male model on blowup swan).
With the first Oz Day celebrations in a few years to be followed by a work day, I sure felt for those sorry souls whose heads and bodies were a little worse for wear come 9am Tuesday morning.
