Blog Love: Lovers In Vain
Self described “lover of nature and beauty” is Lovers in Vain creator, Liviana Ward. After the aspiring stylist found herself searching for a outlet to share her creative passion, Lovers In Vain was born. From Vogue to Real Living magazines, Lovers in Vain is drenched with stunning photography as Liviana draws on the inspiration to be surrounded by beautiful things in all aspects of life.
Can you describe your personal style? Do you have any fashion influences?
I don’t know if my personal style is influenced by others so much, I think it depends more on my mood and surroundings. I’d say it’s very relaxed and bohemian, I don’t like a lot of fuss so I tend to stick with the basics.I’m very big on accessories!
What was the inspiration behind starting your blog?
I come from a very creative family, so I’ve always been somewhat creative, I could just never find the right outlet. Then I found myself getting lost in blogs like knight cat and fashiontoast on a daily basis, and found that it was a great way to share and interact with so many aspiring and like minded people that I wouldn’t have ordinarily come into contact with.
I love the “Love Lists” that you have recently started on your blog, what is on your list right now?Any blogs?
Too many things! Right now I have a serious tumblr obsession, beautiful flower-filled gardens, bunnies, anything crochet, ethnic jewellery and I’m living for bright colours, whether it’s clothes, shoes, lipstick or cushions! The list [of blogs] grows daily, there are so many beautiful blogs out there. I don’t know if its my day dreaming of one day venturing to New York but I’m really loving New York bloggers; Where Did U Get That, Trop Rouge, The Little Black List and Natalie Off Duty. New York style has me completely mesmerized. They have such an awesome ‘anything goes’ attitude towards fashion. I love it!
What do you think the biggest trends of next season will be?
Lots of colour and bold prints, printed pants, boy-meets-girl, chunky knits, lace and big statement jewellery pieces.
There are so many fashion blogs out there, it’s hard to keep up! What advice would you give to someone trying to make a name for themselves in the blogosphere?
The only advice I would give is to stay true to you and what you love and don’t blog so much for others. I’ve gained so much through already through blogging that I am grateful for but I’ve made it a point to only ever blog for myself, it’s always been and always will be my own personal outlet. My favorite bloggers are those who aren’t afraid of being themselves and who bring something different to the table.
