Bowler Hats: Chanel Revisits A 90\’s Fashion Trend

Apparently, hats are back. According to me hats have always been \’in\’. However, one hat that is certainly \’back\’ from the doldrums of was, is the bowler hat, done by Chanel and see on the likes of Rachel Bilson and Sienna Miller.

The bowler hat is more commonly known and seen as a gentlemen\’s hat but if men can wear skirts, ala the Scottish and Marc Jacobs, women should be able to wear this hat, and they do, very well. Rachel Bilson, a leader in the style pack, sets herself apart from the rest with the use of this hat with a bright skirt, white T and black jacket. Sienna Miller wears this trend with another trend, fringing, and somehow pulls it off while still looking messy.

Since it\’s summer in Aus, not too many places stock the bowler hat. In fact, I couldn\’t find any places that actually did. However, ebay is a great source where you can find a mirad of bowler hats that already have an authentic vintageness to it.

Personally, I think this trend suits women more than men. It seems like a classic switch where something that was intended for men is now for women. It seems to suit them better then a man – not too sure why. I really only think a true fashionista can pull this look off. It takes confidence. If I wore it I would be constantly wondering if I looked silly – I would, however, buy one because I do adore!
