Chambord Shine Award Winner ‘Limedrop’ Launches Concept Store

In the colder months of this year, 2threads reported on the Chambord Shine Awards event which was a nationwide designing competition that challenged the competiting finalists to create the perfect spring races frock that would be worn by actor Gracie Otto. Melbourne duo Limedrop won over the judges with their design of a carousel horse print dress – very suitable if you ask us – and so followed a double page spread in Marie Claire magazine.

Whilst the designing duo have been busy enjoying the spotlight, they have also found time to launch their concept store in Melbourne Central. The concept for the store and Limedrop’s Spring/Summer collection is ‘Greenhouse’. They explain that as greenhouses are traditionally used to create the ideal environment for plants and so the concept was then to create the perfect environment for the new Limedrop collection using a greenhouse custom fitted with clear and timber paneling fitted out with a modular wooden racking system.

The Spring/Summer collection is titled Far From Home and includes a brilliant range of both men’s and women’s clothes featuring bursts of colour, digital prints and neutral tones on luxurious fabrics. Since winning the Chambord Shine Awards, Limedrop has featured in Frankie Magazine, Grazia, Russh, Oyster, InStyle, Spaces Magazine, Channel 7 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Designer Showcase and part of the Diana World Tour. The store will be a temporary fixture that will be open over summer 2010 and 2011.
