Dion Lee Resort 2013 Lookbook
Our favourite designer Dion Lee has come back with full force on his first Resort collection. After skipping out on Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week along with Josh Goot, the anticipation grew higher to see what he really had under his sleeve for his next collection.
This collection runs along the same lines as Lee’s previous aesthetic. Classic silhouette’s with a twist of sporty luxe, and that all too familiar splash of colour that we love from Dion Lee. Almost the entire collection focuses on neoprene, which is often woven into the sides of dresses and blazers acting as a subtle motif throughout the entire lookbook.
Well known for his silhouette’s and innovative use of opticals in his previews collections, Lee has translated this again for Resort wear creating a sophisticated style combined with his usual love for illusion and the element of 3D in his designs. Whilst working with varied structures and fabrics, the remainder of the collection brings the clothes to life, due to their almost ‘you can touch it over the screen’ appeal. So lets break it down for you: optical prints, splashes of colour, peplum skirts, body con and neoprene cut outs, hints of neon, classic silhouettes, chiffon shirts adorned with killer fabrics that make your jaw drop. Outstanding collection from one of Australia’s most loved designers.
