What made you decide to start your very own beauty blog?

I decided to start Cosmetic Cupcake as a way to relax from my full time job and study last year.  As a Registered Nurse, my job can be quite draining and emotional.  Polishing my nails and reading beauty blogs was a great way of unwinding!  I wanted to share my love of beauty and nail art with other likeminded ladies.
When did you first start your beauty blog?

I started Cosmetic Cupcake in February 2010 and I have had so much fun ever since!  The beauty blogging community is so supportive and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know so many fabulous bloggers at home and internationally.

What is the one beauty product you can’t live without?

Nail polish!!  I’m not very adventurous with colours when it comes to fashion so nail polish allows me to go crazy with colour and designs.  I love nail art and spend hours thinking of new designs and colour combinations!  I can’t stop buying nail polish and collecting different colours and finishes either.

What is the most crucial part of your beauty regime?

The most crucial part of my beauty regime is making sure I remove all my makeup at night.  This is so important!

Why is makeup so important to you?

Makeup allows me to escape boring and plain Michelle.  It allows me to be creative with colour and experiment with different looks.  Nursing isn’t glamorous so makeup  boosts my confidence and gives me that something extra especially when I’m having a bad day – never doubt the effect of a gorgeous bright lipstick or pretty blush when you’re feeling down!
