Dove Diarie’s Ling Tung’s 8 Beauty Myths!

#1 Myth :  Beauty bloggers are shallow!

Just because we blog about cosmetics and skincare and everything beauty-related, it does not make us shallow!!  We just appreciate beauty-ful things!

#2 Myth : Celebrities look beautiful all the time.

Have you heard of air-brushing?  Photoshop to the max!
#3 Myth :  Bleaching upper lip hair will make it invisible.

No, people can still see it.  It will show up as a blonde moustache and it will be really obvious if you have darker skin.

#4 Myth :  You won’t get sunburn if you apply sunscreen when you’re lying on the beach.

It’s too late!!!  You’ve already been exposed to the sun!  Sunscreen takes 15-20 minutes to start protecting your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays.

#5 Myth : The more expensive a skincare product is, the better the results.

No.  You may just be paying for the luxe packaging, but the product itself is of a similar quality of a cheaper drugstore item.

#6 Myth :  Apply foundation all over for a flawless complexion.

Foundation only needs to be applied to areas that need it to even out the skin tone.  There is no need to cake it on, ladies!
#7 Myth :  Botox is only for the wrinkly.

Prevention of wrinkles is better than cure!  (And sadly, there is no cure for wrinkles!)

#8 Myth :   For better results and longer-lasting colour, leave home hair dye on longer than the time stated in the instructions.

Home hair dyes have undergone extensive testing and the time stated is the optimum processing time.  Leaving the colour on longer may cause damaging effects to scalp and hair.

The more expensive a skincare product is, the better the results.

This is not just a myth, this is really a truth. If you want to be more beautiful and elegant you must spend for it.
