Isabel Marant at Paris Fashion Week SS12

Edgy, thrown together and easy cool is what comes to mind when we think about French designer Isabel Marant. With a celebrity following like Kate Bosworth (who seems to really get her wear out of Marant’s Forbes Suede Ankle Boots) and Rachel Bilson who styles easy going at its best, Isabel Marant maintains it’s position as a favourite amongst the fashion crowd but they might be left a little dispointed with the designer’s spring offerings.

Though Marant’s spring 2012 collection was full of what we expect from the designer: great denim pieces, loose fitting tee’s and slouchy jackets it was perhaps a little to relaxed. Checked shirts, sport jerseys and even track suit bottoms were key features on the runway edging the collection almost to fashion victim status.

Thankfully with saving graces in the form silver dresses and python printed jeans, Marant did show some pieces that did want to run onto the runway (or in my case into the computer screen) and snatch right off the model. Though, the collection still seemed a bit dated, I bet you, come next spring, that every chain store copies the sporty and slouchy vibe.
