Kelly Cutrone Launches A New Line With Chris Burch

It was a collaboration waiting to happen between Public Relations goddess Kelly Cutrone and designer Tory Burch’s ex husband Chris Burch, a venture capitalist. Kelly and Chris randomly met outside of an empty Alexander Wang store in Soho and approached him after she overheared his conversation with his daughter about his interest in investing.

The two decided to enter business together, creating a clothing line they have now chose to name Electric Love Army. Cutrone has made the swift move from publicity to fashion designing, falling back on all the skills she has learnt by working close-by the fashion industry for most her life, not to mention playing mentor to wholesome Whitney Port guiding her through the ins and outs of launching her own line Whitney Eve.

Kelly Cutrone can never tire as she is constantly exploring new ways of expanding her body of work. We’ve see her go from hot tempered boss of Whitney and Lauren briefly in The Hills then more substantially in the City as boss and creator of People’s Revolution PR, to her spin off show Kell on Earth. Kelly has even writen her very own book ‘If You Need to Cry Go Outside’. Being a strong, fiery and tough personality herself, her new line is set to be all about the strength of women and off course ‘empowerment’ taking inspiration from strong dominant women such as Cher and Blondie. She describes the line as, “some cool granola girl mixed with the ultimate fashion chick,” with prices ranging from $30-$300. But don’t hold your breath, the line isn’t set to hit stores until next February.
