Lookbook: Secret Squirrel Winter 12

Secret Squirrel may have a quirky name but the dedication and inspiration of creative duo Bri Cheeseman and Andrew Prince speaks volumes about how far you can get with hard work and a dream. The pair started out at Glebe Markets and have evolved over the years into a prized Australian designer label.

Despite being adored by Kimbra, Sarah Blasko and Jackie O and being featured in the pages of Russh, Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue Australia, the Secret Squirrel style is luxurious yet quiet and unassuming – a touch of understated class.

For their upcoming winter range, the label employed Melbourne-based artist Ainslie Fletcher, who created the striking yardage prints for the collection entitled Art Class. Her hand-painted designs were influenced by the aesthetic of modernist artists Paul Klee and Anni Albers, native American Indian handicrafts and quilts and quilting techniques, and became the main source of inspiration for the range.
