Our Favourite Fashion Bloggers Right Now
As many of us are already aware, there is a rather large abundance of fashion blogs around at the moment and sometimes, the choice may get a little overwhelming. As any other fashion enthusiast we love spending our free time getting lost in fashion blog after fashion blog, but with the abundance of blogs out there at the moment, knowing the best ones to follow may be a little bit difficult.
We thought we would guide you along the right path to set you straight with new blogs you need to be following. Here are a few independent new fashion blogs which we have recently taken a liking to!
Willabelle Ong of Pale Division
I’m a sixteen going on seventeen year old high-school student residing in Australia at the moment with big aspirations to move to New York in the future. I also lived in Singapore for a couple of years and the diversity of cultures over there was insipring, so was the street-style. Living in two entirely different countries has exposed me to a variety of ‘street-style’ and changed my perspectives.
My personal style blog, Pale Division, was started initially to compile and record different events in my life. It eventually evolved into a fashion blog when I started cataloging lots of inspiration, photography, my outfits, musings, and so on. Lookbook was another factor that drove me into expanding the blog into a fashion-based one because it was such a great platform for exposure and interactivity with other people in the world who shared the same interests as I did.
As my blog gradually developed, so did my style; I’m continuously experimenting with textures, prints, colours and trends. Although it’s a long shot, I’m just going to point out that I would love to be an editor of Vogue one day.
Norlin Mustapha of Baubles, Bubbles and Bags
Edited and managed by Norlin, Baubles, Bubbles & Bags Style File is a blog that covers fashion, beauty and lifestyle topics for women with a discerning taste for life. Norlin has dabbled in fashion design, worked in the fashion retail line and now even owns her own accessories online store. With a list of experience on her belt, the blog endeavours to share information that is up-to-date, befitting of most budgets; from luxe to less.
Lauren Hernandez of Your Only Black Swan
Your Only Blackswan is a personal style and travel diary of Lauren Hernandez, Sydney-based graphic designer, blogger, shutterbug and food enthusiast. With a love for vintage clothing, photography and native influences, Your Only Blackswan features frequent outfit posts combining both on-trend, quality pieces and unique vintage finds. Launched in early 2010, Your Only Blackswan has been the creative outlet from Lauren’s initial design career and comes to life as an intrinsic link between her day-job and endless inspirations across fashion, design, photography and music. Her blog also supports Australian fashion and online retail with the blogosphere becoming a popular channel for marketing and social media campaigns. You can find Lauren trawling the weekend markets with her Canon 550D in hand or behind a computer screen being a Photoshop wiz. As a creative of all sorts, Lauren shares what you could call a slice of her life, the tastiest one saved for last.
Kaity and Maca of Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss
Two girls in their early 20s, both originally from Sydney, with one living in London and working in the music industry, both have a thing for fashion! Kaity is a pastis loving, cigarette smoking, Serge Gainsburg loving chick with a great taste in clothers and a wicked dry sense of humour. Maca is an amateur photographer, vintage bike riding, sangria drinking gal with a fierce love for shoes and a keen desire to dance at all opportunities.
The pair started Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss to keep themselves from going insane with boredom and to have a place to vent their frustrations, passions and what ever else takes their fancy.
Bronny of Fat Aus
My name is Bronny I’m 25, living in Melbourne and I’ve been blogging on Fat Aus for about a year. I first started the blog as a way of documenting my outfits and sharing my styling ideas as someone who falls somewhere between straight sizes and plus sizes. Recently I decided to extend the blog a bit and include some more personal posts as a way to share more of my life.
Bianca of Miss Bias
Miss Bias is a fashionista loving all things fashion, design and style. A creative individual who loves expressing her unique sense of personal style and showcasing the talents of other creative individuals.
The Miss Bias blog presents a vast array of interesting, informative and visually beautiful images that are fashion, design and style focused. Gathered from an assortment of discoveries, Miss Bias demonstrates a collection of fashionable ideas ranging from fashion buys on a shoestring budget to a admiring luxury designer brilliance.
Hanna of Chiclash
Although I study economics, I got my first job in fashion. And this is the sphere that I love and want to dedicate my life to. I’m from Ukraine, yet I feel that many cultures are very close to my heart. There’s still a lot to learn and see, and blogging is the perfect way to share my experience with like-minded people obsessed with what to wear.
And I believe that no matter what is said about fashion, it does help to make the world a slightly better and beautiful place.
CHICLASH is a fusion of my personal style and musings on all things related to fashion. It’s an honest outlook on what we see on catwalks, magazines, the stores and in our own wardrobes.
Vivien of And What Else is There?
The inspiration got started two years when we were both in a corporate world in a financial sector. The creativity is quite restricted when you have to work with numbers and keep up the pace of a routine life. We wanted to start something fun and inspirational as a small project for international audience to observe what young minds like us have to offer from this country. We noticed that there was no proper site from Thailand that could relate at an international stage that creativity is booming in our hometown. ANDWHATELSEISTHERE is a part of our start to release creative thoughts from the root of the place we are living by conveying local lifestyle in Thailand through our self-taken photos, some random travels, other independent design, and inspirational images. All in all, our site is like a spiritual space where we can release our thoughts beyond our corporate lives and a therapy to soothe our mind. We also run a shop on Etsy selling tailor-made clothing and canvas totes with our design and vintage finds.
Satamp Kanom Grey, Lime, Gold
Grey, Lime, Gold blog is founded by me, Satamp Kanom, but I now collaborate with my brother Satang ‘CC’ Kanom. We are a brother and sister team who do our own animations, graphics, research and photography. Both born in Thailand, but raised in Adelaide Australia, we have to privilege of showcasing our ideas and personal style, which are a combination Bangkok street style, Adelaide’s vintage with a touch of European essence. We also hope to launch our own clothing line one day.
Emily Collie of Melb Girl
Currently, I am supporting my fashion addiction as the Director of my design studio ‘melbgirl.com’ and as Editor of fashion blog ‘Melbourne Girl’. I am also a fashion writer, contributing to both online and print publications including Social Media Daily and Fjorde Magazine. Having completed not only my Bachelor Arts, but also studies in Interior Decoration, The Fashion Industry and Landscape Design, I am driven by everything creative! I run my own design & communication business and pursue my vigor for fashion blogging in my free time. Last year, I had the pleasure of hosting the 2010 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week event ‘Made in Melbourne’, attended by over 400 people.
Born and raised in country NSW, Melbourne has without a doubt moulded my fashion style. Retaining key fashion values like freedom and independence, Melbourne has opened my eyes to a new light of ‘urban’ sophistication and spirit. Often Melbourne is referred to as the fashion capital of Australia. However, after traveling overseas last year I would push that title to ‘Fashion Capital of the World’! The creative talent and diversity of designers/retailers based right here in Melbourne in second to none. We have every style we could ever imagine, and the freedom and flexibility to find it when and where we want – be it a secluded laneway, funky suburban shopping strip or fast-paced shopping centre.
Melbourne Girl’ focuses on everything fashion, design and photography in Melbourne and Australia. We do delve into some international stuff every now and then – because let’s face it – fashion is global! My passions are street, surf and urban fashion with a Melbournian edge so to speak! ‘Melbourne Girl’ is all about the styles I aspire too.
