Paper Sea Quarterly Launch

Paper Sea Quarterly Publication Launch

Resembling the aesthetic and tangible notions of an ornate coffee table book Paper Sea Quarterly is a publication that offers honest stories and critical pictures about surf, travel and art. Last weekend, 2threads attended the launch held in an underground warehouse off Swanston Street,  Melbourne.

The Paper Sea three – Andy, Tom and Andrew – started Paper Sea Quarterly as a simple recognition of the need for change.

“We saw the need for a creative alternative and so we present to you a quarterly book for people who share our affinity for the ocean, creativity in its infinite manifestations and the thrills and perils of travelling amongst far away cultures.”

Alice McGenniss-DestroWith an elaborate contributing team that extends worldwide, Paper Sea Quarterly explores not just beaches but the cultures of far away countries.

A handful of  interviewees from issue 1 were present last weekend to help celebrate the launch of this new quarterly publication.

Issue 1 combines a mixture of fiction & non-fiction stories; including an incredible story told by a rapper/ artist who had his body blown apart by an electric shock!

While the material and photographs ignite our love for the sea, this new publication will be making waves for its authentic editorial approach. Other story subjects include a tattoo artist, musicians, illustrators and photographers.

You can subscribe online or pick up a copy at newsagents, Mag Nation, Patagonia stores, Trigger Brothers stores, Mordy Surf and Tonic stores.
