Serpent & the Swan SS11/12 Collection

During Fashion Week, not only do designers come to showcase their collection on the runway, but some also come to display their collection in the Gallery. This year there were so many creative and talented ranges. As I would rush to the OPT for the next catwalk, I would make sure that I would stop along the way, and browse through the amazing designs that were on show.

One designer in particular grabbed my eye. Serpent & the Swan, have both a women’s and men’s range in a muted colour palette of black, storm grey, sand and taupe. The Spring Summer 11/12 Collection ‘Into the Sun’ was inspired by a primitive sense of living and experience. The beautiful range consists of natural materials, ranging from leather, suede, with an evident use of tribal jewellery and embellishments.

The gorgeous designers, Hayley and Lauri Smith not only present a simple and chic SS11/12 clothing range, but also a stunning selection of jewellery and accessories. The range includes large, statement necklaces, delicate body jewelry,rings and bracelets. Whilst browsing through the Serpent & the Swan, the items were delicate in texture, but also had a unique edge. Garments played with length and layers, through an assortment of leather and suede panels, natural linen, sheer chiffon, raw silk, jersey and high-density washed cotton. The embellishments were amazing, I loved the bone and skull additions on the zippers!
