Sportsgirl Winter 2012 Preview
As a Sportsgirl stylist, I had the opportunity to attend the autumn/winter 2012 NSW Preview Night, held last week at the Dolphin Hotel. It was a fantastic night focused on the upcoming trends, colours and designs that will be delivered to our stores in the coming months.
The buyers and designers have taken inspiration from various eras; specifically the 60s, incorporating rich cherry reds in luxe fabrics, shiny metallics and a touch of faux fur. A-line skirts will also see a revival. The Peter-Pan collars that we have seen flying around the blogosphere recently have been added as a new-age quirky touch.
You will be glad to know that the colour blocking trend will be sticking around next season, but instead of vibrant hues we will be mixing deep, rich tones like port red, navy blue forest green and turquoise. Glitter will also cover almost every corner of the store; from boots to belts bags and bangles!
During the icy months, Sportsgirl have taken inspiration from the Scandinavians mixing crisp white fur layers with fresh denim blue shirts. Multiple layers and mixing textures are a necessity this winter which can be done easily as there will be a huge selection of scarves, beanies, capes, shrugs and shawls available in store.
Statement neck pieces in rose gold, gold and silver will be carrying over from last season in an array of original and quirky designs. Sportsgirl know that their customer is technologically savvy so there will be an abundance of iPhone cover designs to choose from as well as vibrant cases that can be used as a handbag or laptop case!
We were given an ultimate Sportsgirl Top 10 List for autumn/winter 2012. If you follow this guide you will be bang on trend next season!
