Style Profile: Christine Centenera – Editor Of Harpers Bazaar
For years as I looked over fashion blogs I began to notice this face turning up on almost every page, from the Sartorialist to Garance Dore. After some stealthy googling I discoverd this woman with impeccable style and an enviable shoe collection was Christine Centenera.
As the fashion editor for Australia’s Harpers Bazaar it’s no surprise that Centenera would be sitting front row at Fashion shows around the world, and frequenting best dressed lists. What is surprising is that in this day and age when most editors would rather die than wear the same jacket twice, Centenera often re-wears her clothing, and in a cruel twist of fate for the rest of us, manages to make each outfit look completely original.
Centenera has also worked as a freelance stylist, one of her previous clients was Lara Bingle, introducing Lara to the tailoring and bold colours of Josh Goot, who just happens to be Centenera’s long term boyfriend. Her unique eye for detail sees Centenera prefer impeccable detailing in her clothes, as opposed to piling on accessories. Centenera’s trademarks include strong jackets, tight jeans or leather pants, mini dresses and her incredible dark honey hair parted down the middle eaither down or in a bun at the back of her head. Supporting Australian designers on the international stage Christine Centenera continues to offer inspired outfit choices, ensuring her place as the best dressed on lists that haven’t even been written yet.
