Vivid Sydney Presents Henry Holland and Jessica Fletcher
British fashion designer Henry Holland spoke at an exclusive forum presented by Creative Sydney earlier this week. Alongside Holland sat House of Holland’s international sales director and long-time friend, Jessica Fletcher. The fashion duo spoke candidly about his rise to fashion fame, the power of celebrity and his 90210 fashion influences.

In 2007, Holland created his iconic slogan tee shirts, a simple concept that has since grown in a multimillion dollar fashion house proving he is far from his first collections title, “One Trick Pony”.
Holland’s success has allowed the designer to not only extend his fashion lines but collaborate with some of the biggest names in fashion including; Levis, Pretty Polly, Superga, and Le Specs.
Holland discussed his unconventional path to fashion, having no formal design training but instead, a journalism background, believing as long as your passionate is doesn’t matter what you have done before and its clear his passion and personality shines through his clothes.
“’[The House of Holland gir]l is the kind of girl I’d want to hang out with.” Holland told the audience.
The Brit remains laid back about his rise to fame as well as his British IT girl friends, naming Agyness Deyn (who has featured heavily throughout all of collections), Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof as some of his closest and longest known childhood friends.
Since his first collection, Holland has continued to push the boundaries with his laid back style, from his risqué lingerie lines to his tongue in cheek collections including AW10 collection ‘C.T.F.O (Chill the F— Out ) It’s Only A Show’ and his SS09 90210 inspired collection, ‘Sex Lies and Volleyball’.
“I don’t want [house of Holland] to be in a museum, I want it to be worn”, Holland admitted.
The forum also allowed guests a chance to have their say, tweeting questions to the fashion duo throughout the night.
