News: Keri Russell and other celebs wearing English country style fashion by piscesris

The English country style fashion has hit 2009 and it's welcomed with open arms. I personally love the perfect mix of feminity and masculinity. This style promotes floral prints without being too little-girl pretty; plaids and western themes without being honkey-tonk hokey; simple layered lace in deep greys, blues, and plums. Keri Russell, and other celebs wearing English country style fashion should inspire you to head out and try this old province elegance.
The English country style fashion has been all over the runway. From James Coviello back in 2006 to Chloe Dolce and Gabbana in their Fall/Winter 2008-2009 runway shows. These ready-to-wears are a little more exaggerated than neccessary but you can easily take inspiration from these looks to create your own English country style outfits. From secondary-type plaid dresses and knee high boots to classic western-type fashions velvet hats.

News: Zoe Saldana: Fashion Icon by eightiesbabygirl

Although she flies under the radar starring in mostly Indie Films and leading a seldomly gossiped about life, Zoe Saldana exudes a style that has been summonsing our past due attention.
Here, Zoe stylishly participates in the menswear trend and does not dissapoint. She pairs a fitted houndstooth vest with tailored bermuda shorts and completes the look with wooden heeled oxford booties.
Here, Saldana dawns a blue and white belted shift dress with gold accents, while conquering the consistent challenge of white shoes and simultaneously channeling the effortlessly classic style of Jackie Onassis.
Despite Saldana's sultry appeal, here she shows the duality of her style by going for a fantastically feminine chic look wearing a pink strapless dress with a bow belt and peep toe ankle booties.
With her upcoming role in Star Trek, Saldana is due to attract much more of the media's attention, but those of us who are fashionably insane will keep a... Zoe Saldana: Fashion Icon at 2threads

News: The Best and Worst of January Fashion Magazines by tarynbensky

The Best and Worst of January Fashion Magazines
January fashion magazines may be light in volume, but they lend a much-needed heft of creativity to the fashion ennui of this past fall's periodicals, the editorial spreads in particular.
NYMag.com posted a selection of the best and worst pages of this month's fashion pages. Korean Vogue had the best editorial: they styled Korean models as the supers -- Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, et al. If you want to find good American photography, you will have to settle for Harper's Bazaar, with an ethereal, well-traveled editorial of the best of Spring 2009. Jumpsuits are officially back! Although we knew that already...

It is nice to see innovative, beautiful, even witty photography in a time like this. Everything is so depressing now and I, for one, am glad that some magazines saw fit to bring beauty and creativity back to the world of fashion. Yes, retail is down and advertising pages are way down, but is that really an excuse to get... The Best and Worst of January Fashion Magazines at 2threads

News: Lonely Hearts Club by jennalee

Lonely Hearts Club is a label so street wise you won’t have to worry about looking stylish- in one of these pieces you are bound to instantly. Lonely Hearts Club was formed in 2003 amongst three friends with a penchant for quirky prints, fine fabrics and clothing that pulls attention. The designers of this New Zealand based label, Aimee McFariane, Helene Morris and Steve Ferguson, each share backgrounds in fashion and graphic design and all longed for a label that was always unexpected and definitely unusual. Lonely Hearts was born into a fashion industry with a severe lack of quirky and entertaining clothing, and it quickly filled this popular market.

Add It Up S/S/ 09, fuses lace with leather, mesh with shredded cotton and gothic detailing with ultra femme pieces. The unusual clashing of cultures, influences and style is the backbone of the Lonely Hearts aesthetic and personality. Whilst black and white feature prominently through each season, loud prints, and ... Lonely Hearts Club at 2threads

News: FashionDO- Fedora Hats are new hit for celebrites for Nicole Richie, Misha Barton and so many more by fashionguru07

Goodbye beanies and hello fedoras. Well, do not totally say goodbye to your beanies but just put them up on the top shelve of your closet. Fedoras are not just for men today but the ladies are also pulling the look and giving the outfit a rather laid back feel. Celebrities like Nicole Richie and Misha Barton have always been seen wearing them but no one really followed the look because it does seem like one of those "risky" fashion trends that many may not be able to pull off. It looks great with any type of face shape and gives a little spice and jazz to that outfit.

Joel Madden and Nicole Richie really pull off the duo fedora hats. All fedora hats come in many different bill sizes which is noticeable with Joel's that is shorter and Nicole's is a bit longer. Personally, I'm a longer bill person than a short. It looks more feminine even though these hats are technically for guys when they first came out in the 1950's.

I love fedoras that have a bit of color to... FashionDO- Fedora Hats are new hit for celebrites for Nicole Richie, Misha Barton and so many more at 2threads

News: Are Women Looking Better in Spite of, or Because of, the Recession? by tarynbensky

Are Women Looking Better in Spite of, or Because of, the Recession?
I noticed over the past couple of months that women, generally speaking, have been looking very stylish as of late. This seems almost an anomaly considering the extremely cold weather and continually failing economy. How did the greater percentage of women become sartorially inclined with the influx of snow and wind, and the depression of their bank accounts?
Bill Cunningham noticed this as well (also confirming that I am not crazy/have lowered my standards: additional excellent news!). In this week's Sunday Styles, Cunningham's On the Street provides uplifting evidence that we can remain stylish despite the fact that many of us are not willing to go out and buy new clothes.
As I have explored before, shopping your closet will afford you new options and a revised look without actually obtaining anything new. Like Cunningham explains, women in New York have taken to their wardrobes with gusto.
Luckily, looking styli... Are Women Looking Better in Spite of, or Because of, the Recession? at 2threads

News: Stolen Girlfriend's Club by jennalee

Stolen Girlfriend’s Club is a New Zealand based label that fuses modern day street wear with nostalgic hints to the days of peace movements and rock and roll. This is the type of label where you wish it was okay to spend all your hard-earned cash on an entire collection. Stolen Girlfriend’s Club features both menswear and womenswear, with each collection hosting more creative drive than your average designer. The label consists of heavily structured pieces, with unexpected tailoring and cuts. Although the garments appear to be left relatively untouched, keeping in the basic outline of their cut, they are in fact subtly tailored to create intriguing hemlines and off-beat necklines- this is where Stolen Girlfriend’s Club earns it’s brownie points.
